Details about the accommodation: The 4 safari nights will be at a luxury campsite - more like glamping rather than camping. Nestled in the buffer zone forests which border the Yala national park, the camp will transport you into a world unlike any other. The camp is a fusion of simplicity and wild luxury that has been woven seamlessly with the surrounding environment. Each of the tents are spacious and comfortable providing the ultimate relaxation after a long day of safari - a highlight is the plunge pool in each tent. The 2 nights on the southern beach of Sri Lanka will either be a luxury vila or small boutique hotel, which will be confirmed prior to finalisation of trip. All accommodation at both locations will be on double sharing basis - single supplement can be arranged depending on availability and at an extra charge. Yala National Park

Day 1-5

Day 1 - Pick up in Colombo by 8am and leave for Yala National park by luxury coach - 4 hours travel time - Snacks and refreshments on the way - Spend afternoon and evening at campsite - Join your guides on a walk through nature as you learn to track and trace a variety of animals. - Lunch and dinner provided - Soft drinks Provided Day 2 - Set off early morning for a full day safari in Yala National Park - block 1. - Spend full day in park with a picnic lunch and rest at mid day inside the park - Breakfast, Lunch and dinner provided - Soft drinks Provided Day 3 - Set off early morning for a 3 hour safari in Yala National Park - block 5 - Return to camp for breakfast - Spend the rest of the day exploring the bush area including the lake close to camp site - "Basic Birding" presentation - your guides at the camp are passionate birders and are always up for some fun. With their help you can create a list of the birds that you spot on safari, and learn about their diets and behavior in the process. - Breakfast, Lunch and BBQ dinner provided - Soft drinks Provided Day 4 - Set off early morning for a full day safari in Yala National Park - block to be decided later. - Spend full day in park with a picnic lunch and rest at mid day inside the park - Breakfast, Lunch and dinner provided - Soft drinks Provided

Weligama

Day 5-6

- Setoff after breakfast to Weligama - Arrive at villa in Weligama - Spend the day on the beach - Surfing sessions or lessons for those who would like to try it out can be arranged (additional cost to be borne by TripMate) - Dinner at the seafood market where fresh sea food is cooked for you on the beach as you like. -Breakfast, Lunch and dinner provided

Mirissa

Day 6-7

- Travel to Mirissa Bay after breakfast; we will relax in Mirissa, taking in the sun sand and the waves we will also have whale watching / snorkeling / diving can be arranged (additional cost to be borne by TripMate) - Back to Weligama villa in evening - Dinner discovering the epicurean delights of Weligam.

Colombo

Day 7

- Leave after breakfast to Colombo - Option 1 : stop over at the enchanting Lunuganga. This country estate offers a precious window into the mind of its famous creator, the legendary Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, pausing to admire carefully considered architectural flourishes, leaf-framed lake vistas, and vast, serendipitous 15-acre Lunuganga gardens created over a period of 40 years. This soulful, authentic artist’s retreat sits near west-coast Bentota (cost of tour to be borne by TripMate) - Option 2 : tour of Colombo in a 1940's jeep (cost of tour to be borne by TripMate) - Option 3 : optional walking tour of the bustling commercial hub of Colombo, taking in the noise, colonial architecture, places of worship. - End of trip - Breakfast and refreshments provided.
