Guided trip
Embark on a journey to Uganda, a land blessed with breathtaking natural wonders and extraordinary wildlife encounters. Nestled within its verdant rainforests lies an incredible opportunity: the chance to trek alongside majestic gorillas. It is estimated that there are only around 1063 mountain gorillas remaining in the world today. Major conservation measures are done, which makes the trekking permit very expensive, but totally worth it! Prepare to be captivated by Uganda's remarkable landscapes, warm hospitality, and the incredible privilege of sharing a moment with the awe-inspiring gorillas, an experience that will forever touch your soul. Included in the costs: - Accommodation (basic lodges and hotels, shared rooms) - Transportation from/to all the places we visit - Keeper for a day (volunteering experience) - National Park Fees - Gorilla Trekking Permit* - Chimpanzee Trekking Permit* - Trekking Guide - 4x Breakfast, 5x Lunch, 4x Dinner - Drinking water during the trekking - Trip planning and packing list - Insurance (for German and Austrian residents) *The price includes a Gorilla trekking permit of 700$ as well as the Chimpanzee permit of 200$ per person and is subject to change.

Trip Itinerary
1

Entebbe

Day 1-2
Arrival Day! We will meet at our accommodation in Kampala, where we will spend some days, before our trekking tour. We will get to know each other and discuss the plan for the upcoming days. An adventure awaits us :D
2

Entebbe

Day 2-3
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a career with animals? Let's find out together! Today we will spend the day at a wildlife conservation center with the animal keepers who will share their passion for animals with us. We will participate in hands-on activities such as preparing food for the animals, cleaning enclosures, and providing enrichment.
3

Kampala

Day 3-4
Today we will explore Kampala! For example, we will visit the Owino Market, one of the largest open-air markets in East Africa. Of course, we should also not miss out on trying some of the local dishes!
4

Kibale National Park

Day 4-5
We will get picked up from our hotel and drive for about 9 hours to Kibale Forest National Park. We will have lunch along the way. On arrival, late dinner will be served at the lodge, with a scenic view of the forest, of Kibale National Park.
5

Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Day 5-6
After breakfast, we will be given a safety and tracking briefing and head into the lush forest together with our expert tracker. Hopefully, we will be able to witness some chimpanzees swinging through the trees! In the afternoon it is possible to go on a swamp walk in Bigodi Swamp Sanctuary to see some birds and other primates.
6

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 6-7
We will have an early breakfast prior to departing for Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth National Park and watch out for the eye-catching big game on the way like elephants, buffalos, antelopes, warthogs and other wildlife. The next day, we will continue to Bwindi for the ultimate gorilla experience!
7

Bigodi

Day 7-8
Uganda is home to half of the world's remaining population of mountain gorillas, making it a premier destination for gorilla trekking. These gentle giants can be found in the misty forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. With just around 1,000 mountain gorillas left in the wild, encountering them in their natural habitat is a rare and awe-inspiring experience that we will remember forever! After our gorilla trekking, we will head to Lake Bunyonyi, where we will spend the night at a lake resort. Lake Bunyonyi is often referred to as the "Place of Many Little Birds." If we have some time left, it is possible to go canoeing or visit the local community.
8

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day 8-9
After our gorilla trekking, we will head to Lake Bunyonyi, where we will spend the night at a lake resort. Lake Bunyonyi is often referred to as the "Place of Many Little Birds." If we have some time left, it is possible to go canoeing or visit the local community. On the next day, we will head back to our starting point in Kampala, and have lunch on the way as well as a stopover at the equator line. We will be back in Kampala at around 6 p.m.
9

Entebbe

Day 9
We will spend our last night in Entebbe and head back home the next day - with memories that will stay with us forever! Let me know, if you need any help with airport tranfer. Hopefully we will see each other on another trip :)
