The Mardi Himal is a beautiful and Scenic short trek in the Annapurna region. The route takes 4 to 5 days starting from Kande until we reach the Base Camp Located on a altitude of 4500 m. The Route can be combined to other Treks for an extra 3 to 5 days (Poon hill or Annapurna Base camp). What's so special about this Trek? Mardi Himal is a moderate high-altitude trek that doesn’t require any mountaineering skills or a lot of experience. For Every person who loves hiking/Trekking and is a beginner or have limited number of days, this trek is for you! It’s quite easy to get quickly to lower altitudes if you start feeling unwell. Mardi Himal is one of the shortest treks in the Annapurna region. What's the benefit? You have the chance to live this memorable experience and indulge in the beauty of the Himalayan mountains.

About me! I am Yara, an Architect, and researcher. I Am passionate about traveling and I’ve been exploring new cultures for the past 4 years. I love hiking, trekking, and meeting other open-minded travelers. In 2021 I completed the Everest Base Camp trek and it was one of the most beautiful experiences I ever had. Therefore, I would like to share with you this unforgettable experience of completing one of the most scenic treks in Nepal.

About the accommodation: We will be staying in two types of accommodation. The first type will be before and after the Trek: Guest houses with Bed and Breakfast - shared rooms. The second type will be during the trek on the main stops: Tea houses where we will be able to rest and prepare ourselves for the next day - Bed and Breakfast - Shared rooms

Trip Itinerary

Kathmandu

Day 1-2
Meeting in Kathmandu: Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, serves as a hub for business and culture in the country. You can expect a mix of traditional and modern elements. The city is home to ancient temples, bustling markets, and a rich cultural heritage. On our first Day, we will all meet up, get to know each other, and start the preparation for our amazing upcoming experience.

Pokhara

Day 2-4
We will be moving o the second day to this beautiful city located in central Nepal, where we will be starting our journey. We will be receiving our rooms and maybe gathering to explore the area. The next day, we will be preparing our gear and make sure that we have all the necessary equipment to start the trek on the next day.

Kande

Day 4
Early morning, we will be taking a bus to Kande where we will be staring the trail. From there we hike to Deurali (2100 m) passing through the Australian Camp (2060m). After 4 to 6 hours of walking, we will be reaching our tea house where we will be spending the night and refresh ourselves with a tasty dinner and hot tea.

Deurali

Day 4-5
Early morning, we will start our day after breakfast hiking towards the Low Camp (2985 m). On the way we will pass through Forest Camp (2600 m) where we will be taking our break after 3 to 4 hours of walking. Afternoon, we will reach our lodge to rest and prepare for the next day.

Low Camp Guest House & Restaurant

Day 5-6
On this day, we will be hiking from Low Camp (2985 m) to High Camp (3550 m). The trail will take around 4 hours and have beautiful views over other peaks. We will reach our tea houses and rest for the next day.

Mardi Himal Base Camp

Day 6-7
On this day we will hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500 m) starting from the high Camp (3550 m) and then back. Later during the day, we will hike to Badal Danda (3210 m) where we will be spending the night.

Badal Danda

Day 7-8
From Badal Danda (3210 m), we will be trekking down towards Siding (1750 m) and then take the bus to Pokhara where we be staying at our guest house. If we feel we are comfortable enough, we can go out for dinner and drinks and enjoy the city's local places.

Pokhara

Day 8-9
This will be the end of our Journey, from there we can either stay a couple of days and tour around in the city or go back to Kathmandu or other destinations. Nepal is a beautiful country and there is always a lot to explore!
