Certainly, Costa Rica is a fantastic destination for nature and culture enthusiasts. The country is one of the oldest democracies in Latin America and a world nature destination. I am Alfredo, a middle-aged world traveler, adventurer, historian, college professor, and businessman for many years. I love to share my knowledge and experience with other people, young and not-so-young! 😎🌎🏕 Costa Rica has developed the largest national park system, relative to its size, of any Latin American country, In an effort to preserve much of Costa Rica's natural beauty and surroundings, 25% of the country's land has been set aside and turned into protective parks and reserves so as to safeguard the beautiful and lush environs from deforestation and logging. Get to know the traditional meals, history, and development of Costa Rican society, while also exploring the wonderful view sights of the mountains and volcanoes in the Central Valley. On this trip, you will get to know the traditional cuisine, and coffee history of Costa Rica, and explore a tour as never been seen before! We will be exploring the city of San Jose, its museums of ancient pre-Columbian gold and Jade Museums, the National Theater, a replica of the Paris Opera house that opened in 1897. We will go to the Central Market for souvenirs and for a typical lunch called “Casado! We will have as home base a beautiful apartment in Bario Escalante, San Jose’s Gastronomic and entertainment center, where we can delight in the local cuisine from all parts of the globe. The rest of our adventure will lead us to the active Irazú Volcano, and Hacienda Retes, an Eco farm, and lunch at the farmhouse built in 1878. Continuing with our adventure, we will visit the Britt coffee factory and plantation, and then we will move for one day to the Gulf of Nicoya in the Pacific Ocean, for a tour and visit to Isla San Lucas, an old Penal colony island dated back to 1873 and closed in 1991, and now turned into a wildlife reserve, with a lot of history. On our last day, we will go to La Paz Waterfall Gardens and Nature Park, where we will spend the day. This is one of the most visited destinations by tourists, due to the five waterfalls and the nature reserve with an extensive variety of flora and fauna.
