A winter getaway in one of the most breathtaking nature scenes around the planet is definitely on my bucket list. Mixing between extreme sports and warm/cozy accommodation with local food and spa is something many adventurers seek when exploring cold temperatures. New Zealand surely can offer an entertaining weekend and pure winter experience fun for everyone. The region that we are going to is a paradise for those who love skiing, comfortable amenities, and untouched nature. This trip will be a combination of a ski trip as well as get to know the region and the local cuisine. I am looking for 2-4 TripMates (girls/boys) to join me on this winter adventure. You don't have to be an expert in skiing or snowboarding, I am a certified instructor in both activities and I would gladly share some of my knowledge (and free classes) for anyone who is willing to learn a new hobby. Plus you will be getting some high quality memories from a professional photographer ;) 💰 What's included in this trip? 🏠 Shared accommodation during the stay with delicious breakfast is included, see gallery for reference. 🚗 Transportation during your stay. I will drive you around Canterbury most beautiful landscapes and resorts in my car. 🚆 Pick-up & drop-off from Christchurch airport or nearest station. A pick-up from a different location can be arranged. Not included: Costs for winter activities (ski or snowboard rental.), ski pass around NZD 150/day, daily meals, and other personal expenses.

My name is Agustin, I am from Argentina and I have been living in Japan for the last four years, but I have recently moved to New Zealand to study. I am a Snowboard & Ski instructor who loves the outdoors, passionate photographer and filmmaker among other things, so you will be seeing my camera equipment a lot. Always keen to help, have a good chat and create amazing memories.

We'll be staying in a very cozy lodge in Methven, a little town 30 minutes away from the ski resort Mt. Hutt. As demand is high during winter holidays, the accommodation may be different depending on dates, but all selected lodges provide an excellent service. The Lodge is located in the heart of Methven, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. It also has a hot pool and sauna for those who want to relax after a day in the mountain. Christchurch

Day 1

Pick up in Christchurch, located in the head of New Zeland South Island, home of the best rugby and meat pies. From there, we will drive for an hour and a half to Methven, which is located 30 minutes away from the Ski Resort. Christchurch is one of the biggest cities in the South Island, very handy place when it comes to buy groceries and general shopping.

Methven

Day 1-2

Methven turns alive during winter, as the closest town from Mt. Hutt, it receives a good amount of tourism from New Zealand, Australia and many countries in Asia. This is where our headquarters will be, great location for our morning missions, yes we'll be the early birds.

Mount Hutt

Day 2-4

Skiing and Snowboarding in Mt Hutt! If conditions are good, we'll have 20-30 minutes drive from Methven to the base of the ski resort. Views on the way up are hard to believe, specially during early morning. Once in the resort, we can get our ski passes and enjoy our day in the mountain. Slopes are for all levels, from beginners to advanced off-piste riders. There are coffee shops and restaurants where we can have lunch at an affordable price.

Ashburton

Day 4

Mandatory stop to try New Zealand's finest fish and chips and a classic South Island ale for the ones who don't drive ;) Ashburton is located just half an hour from our headquarters and provides a quick getaway for those who want to do groceries or grab a local snack.
