Munising

Day 1-5
Munising is a 55-minute scenic drive from Sawyer National Airport, the closest airport to our adventure. Our accommodation, Annie's Edge is within minutes of beautiful hiking trails. Pictured Rocks Boat Cruises, and kayak tours, numerous waterfalls, great places to eat, and of course the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This home backs up to the beautiful Hiawatha National Forest. It is just a short drive down the street to the town's amenities.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Day 5
On Friday we are booked for a cruise and kayaking tour. Pictured Rocks Kayaking have devised a magnificent trip along the Pictured Rocks without the big paddle to the area. The cruise book sails along Grand Island to the lakeshore for 45 minutes pointing out interesting areas. The kayaks are launched safely off the cruise boat from kayak ramps, and experts lead the group on a 5-mile guided tour. Get up close and personal with Lovers Leap, Chapel Cove, Limbo cave, and many others. The boat will stay with the tour in case of a rest break or a weather change to ensure everyone's safety and comfort.
3

Grand Marais Lighthouse

Day 5
We drive to Grand Marais to check out the historic lighthouse and experience the spectacular and untouched Grand Sable Dunes. The highest point of the National Lakeshore is a desert-like ecosystem that hosts both old forest and new grassy growth close to the lake edge. There is an opportunity to slide down the famous log roll or just take some to stroll around this unique landscape and take in the quiet and serene landscape.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Day 5
Chapel Loop is a 6.4-mile day hike, a big day of walking amongst striped maple, birch, and hemlock to the Chapel Falls and Lakeshore. The warblers will be in residence, and the raptors out and about. There are many other shorter hikes to be conquered if easier options are preferred.
