Sahara Desert Road Trip: Discovering the origins of Al-Ándalus in Morocco

In my spare time, I love organizing trips and here we are! ✈️ Welcome to Al-Ándalus 2023! 🇲🇦 Trip description: 🧳 Dive into the heart of the Sahara Desert on a safari that takes in the historic souks and Kasbahs of Telouet, Aït Benhaddou, and Des Caids. Ride camels over the windswept dunes of Erg Chebbi, sleep in authentic nomad tents, and drive over the dramatic and twisting Tizi n’ Tichka Pass across the High Atlas Mountains. Ready for the adventure? 🚀 Day 1 & Day 2: Marrakech On day 1 we will arrive at Marrakech and admire all the architectural richness of the Medina, upon visiting one of its many riads, small oriental palaces overlooking a beautiful patio. On day 2 we will enjoy Marrakech with a city tour and prepare for the adventure to come in the next days. Day 3: Ouarzazate We will depart from Marrakech and drive through the High Atlas Mountains, via the twisting Tizin’ Tichka mountain pass to Ouarzazate. In this way, we will visit the exotic Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, and the historical Kasbah of Telouet, continuing to Ouarzazate center. We will enjoy lunch nearby the Kasbah of Tourirt, former residence of the Glaoui Dynasty. Then, we will overnight in a beautiful Villa, where the "International Night" will be held. Day 4: High Atlas After breakfast, we will head to Dades Valley, where we will do an outstanding hike and enjoy nature. Then, we will chill out while discovering Moroccan traditions. At night, we will enjoy a music show with the local people at our accommodation. Day 5: Discovering The Sahara Desert During this day, we will continue our adventure to Tinghir via Boulman Dadès, and see beautiful palm trees and lush landscapes, moving then onto the Todgha Gorges. Then, we will drive to Merzouga, stopping by the small town of Rissani, where we will visit the Ksours and Kasbahs of Tafilalt, the Tafilalt Palm Grove, and the Zaouia of Moulay Ali Sherif (mausoleum of the Alaouidynasty’s founder). During the evening, we will be shocked by the Sahara Desert while doing a 4x4 tour and watching the sunset in this spectacular place. We will overnight in a Luxury Camp with bedouin tents, having one of the greatest experiences of our lives. Day 6 & Day 7: Enjoying the Desert On day 6, will wake up to trek by camel across the wind-blown Erg Chebbi dunes for the sunrise, the classic Sahara Desert of all the picture books. Then, we will enjoy the desert while continuing with another 4x4 tour, local tours, and sandboarding. On day 7, we will drive to Ouarzazate via Alnfe, Tazarine, Drâa Valley, and Agdz, overnighting in Kasbah Des Caids, an amazing place surrounded by an oasis, where we will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional dinner while listening to local music. Day 8 & Day 9: Al-Ándalus experience, Moroccan culture & Traditions On day 8, our host will provide us with a cultural tour during the morning, by showing the former life of Moroccans 200 years and their style of life like cooking, working, and the art of building. Afterward, we will continue our return journey to Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka, passing over the High Atlas Mountains, and stopping on the way for lunch. We will finish the day in Marrakech, enjoying the last day of the event and preparing ourselves for an unforgettable and unique Post-Event. These days, we will teleport you back to the origins of Al-Ándalus, living, feeling, and enjoying an unforgettable experience. This will be unique. This will be Al-Ándalus. Summary: Where? Marrakesh

Day 1-3
On day 1 we will arrive at Marrakech and admire all the architectural richness of the Medina, upon visiting one of its many riads, small oriental palaces overlooking a beautiful patio. On day 2 we will enjoy Marrakech with a city tour and prepare for the adventure to come in the next days.

Ouarzazate

Day 3-4
We will depart from Marrakech and drive through the High Atlas Mountains, via the twisting Tizin’ Tichka mountain pass to Ouarzazate. In this way, we will visit the exotic Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, and the historical Kasbah of Telouet, continuing to Ouarzazate center.
