This trip is all about exploring the super peaceful Swedish wilderness in Lapland, with the view of white magical forest and aurora floating on top of our heads (hopefully). It's about enjoying the nature, snow shoeing in the forest, chilling with the dogs, sitting around the fire at night and perhaps learning a thing or two about the amazing Sami culture. A lot of activities to do from skiing to hiking, ice fishing, dog sledding and aurora hike, but we will have them optional for whoever wants to join. O and Of course there is never a guarantee to see the aurora, it's all mother nature, but December should be a good month.

About Me I have worked in Lapland one whole winter and it was an amazing time just to be in that nature, exploring the area, meeting super cool people, so I wanted to share this experience with more like-minded people. O and my name is Mary, 35 and I wobbled around the world quite much and planning to do other trips in other continents as well, I am pretty new to this community so wanted to start with Lapland since I am in Sweden now and want to explore this winter vibe one more time before bouncing. I also teach yoga so maybe an activity for us!

Cozy Home For Our Trip I had many ideas for accommodation from the amazing famous treehouses up north, to fancy mountain lodges, but it was a bit tricky to find the right price for the right dates, so I went ahead with a forest cabin stay. It's going to be a big cabin which we will all share, so it will get cozy with options of double, queen and bunk bed. There is a possibility to change the type of accommodation according to how many joins and your preferences as well. I wanted this specific lodge because it is family run, so I thought more sustainable and also a way to support the local community and perhaps a more authentic way to learn about arctic lifestyle since the forest has a lot of history, but I am flexible to chat and make changes. We can also book sauna woop woop Q&A We can chat and have a call and get things flowing. I am here to answer all questions, help and just make this trip a cozy one. Hope to hear from you, going to be super funnnn!

Trip Itinerary
1

Kiruna

Day 1
First we will meet in Kiruna since this is where we will most likely fly to, the plan is to move directly to the forest lodge. We can discuss the times everybody arrive, then I can arrange the transport to the lodge. In the meantime, while we wait for everybody to join, we can have a nice fika at a cozy café. I thought it is nicer to move to the forest right away and get embedded in the wilderness from the get go.
2

Gällivare

Day 1-5
This is where we will spend the four nights but deep inside the forest, super cozy lodge far away from cities and all. The special point of this lodge is that the energy is sourced sustainably, the beds and textile all come from sustainable sources, no toxic is used for cleaning, all the winter activities are done in a way to reduce our ecological footprints. So basically here is where we will do the aurora guided tour and if anybody wants the dog sledding, reindeer, ski and ice fishing, these activities will be optional. We also have the chance to just book a sauna, walk on our own in the forest, play games around the fire, eat the organic food, have some cocktails and enjoy the quite nature around us. Not a lot of stops in this trip, but plenty of activities and things to do and learn about. if everyone agrees, we can even rent a car and have a drive to Jokkmokk and experience the nature there.
3

Jokkmokk

Day 5
Jokkmokk is located in the heart of the traditional lands of the indigenous Sami people. The town is known for its Sami heritage. This town is a getaway to a bunch of national parks and also characterized by vast forests, pristine lakes, and rolling hills. So a very good option for a day trip.
