The Trip to Iceland was amazing! The group was great and we had a lot of fun. Salvatore was very organized and flexible. He even drove us to more places spontaneously when we were in the area or when we had some time to spare. He already knew wich destinations were near by. I had a great time hunting for the Northern lights with him and the group. I can highly recommend him as a Groupleader!

Trip Itinerary
1

Reykjavík

Day 1-2
The beautiful and vibrant city of Reykjavik serves as the group meeting point. We'll find ourselves embraced by Reykjavik's unique blend of cozy charm and cosmopolitan energy. The city's colorful streets, warm-hearted community, and a taste of traditional cuisine will provide a first taste of Iceland. During our first night, we'll stay in a convenient hostel in the heart of the city center, very close to the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Church and the flybus terminal.
2

Thingvellir National Park

Day 2
On the second day of our Icelandic trip, we will traverse the gorgeous route of the Golden Circle, rich in geological wonders and natural beauty. Our adventure begins with the astounding Þingvellir National Park. This UNESCO historical site holds both geological significance and deep cultural roots: the park showcases the remarkable meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, and it was here, in the 10th century, that Iceland's first parliament was established.
3

Geysir

Day 2
Following the same route, we'll find the spectacular Geysir Geothermal Area. This geothermal wonderland is renowned for its erupting geysers, bubbling hot springs, and vibrant mineral-rich pools. At the heart of this wonderland, we'll see Geysir, from which the term "geyser" originates, and Strokkur, with its regular and explosive eruptions.
4

Gullfoss Falls

Day 2-3
At the end of the day tour, we'll be enchanted by the strength of Gullfoss, the "Golden Falls." The view and sound of the cascading water, combined with the mist that envelops the surroundings, create a truly immersive experience. We'll overnight in a peaceful apartment en route to our next stop. With a stroke of luck, we might be delighted by the magical sight of the northern lights.
5

Skógafoss

Day 3
On the third day of our Icelandic adventure, we will go South, following the Ring road and traversing the heartbreaking coastal landscapes. Along the way, we'll enjoy the majestic 60-meter-high fall of Skógafoss. This intriguing natural marvel is steeped in Icelandic folklore, adding an extra layer of enchantment.
6

Reynisfjara Beach

Day 3-4
Then, we'll visit the outstanding Reynisfjara, widely regarded as one of the world's most striking black sand beaches. From here, we can see the mythological Reynisdrangar basalt sea stacks. According to legend, these towering rock formations are petrified trolls caught by the first rays of dawn while attempting to drag a ship ashore. At night, we'll stay in a cozy guesthouse in the coastal village of Vík í Mýrdal.
7

Fjaðrárgljúfur

Day 4
The first stop of the fourth day is Fjaðrárgljúfur. This winding canyon, sculpted by the Fjaðrá River over centuries, offers an unparalleled glimpse into the Icelandic geological history. We'll walk along the canyon's edge and enjoy breathtaking views and a sense of serenity due to the meandering river.
8

Jökulsárlón

Day 4-5
Later on, we'll immerse ourselves in the mesmerizing atmosphere of the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Get ready to witness the beauty of floating icebergs in this stunning glacial expanse. The silence is occasionally interrupted by the thunderous echoes of icebergs breaking apart, reminding visitors of the ever-changing nature of this glacial landscape. Nearby, the icebergs find their way to Diamond Beach, where they rest on the black volcanic sands, glistening against the stark contrast of the shoreline. We'll spend the night in a quiet hostel, far from city lights. Another excellent chance to see the northern lights!
9

Vik

Day 5-6
As we reach the farthest eastern point of our journey, we'll be on our way back to Vik. But before that, we'll explore the magnificent Skaftafelljökull Glacier. This awe-inspiring natural wonder is just one of the impressive tongues extending from Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe.
10

Sólheimasandur

Day 6
On the sixth day of our trip, we'll explore the wrecked DC-3 plane on the surrealistic beach of Sólheimasandur. The metal skeleton of the aircraft remains frozen in time atop the stark, desolate landscape since the crash-landing in the 1970s.
11

Reykjavík

Day 6-7
Soon after, we'll visit the astonishing red edge of Kerið Crater Lake. Its formation was caused 3,000 years ago by a volcanic explosion followed by a collapse. Then, the crater was filled with water for centuries. At the end of the day, we will rest at our starting point: Reykjavik.
12

Blue Lagoon

Day 7-8
On the final day of our trip, we will take our time to quietly visit Reykjavik. That's the time to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and spend the last day in the Icelandic capital, visiting, strolling through the streets, and having a great meal together. On the same day, we will relax at the iconic Blue Lagoon, with its milky-blue geothermal waters and rugged lava surroundings.
