Hello hello, On this trip to Chania, I will show you around my home town and the best spots a visitor have to see or eat. We will go to 2 of the most famous beaches in Greece Balos Lagoon and Elafonisi, the favorite beach of the locals Marathi, and a secret gem cruise in Thodorou island. We will have a walking tour of the Venetian old town with some quick historical facts by me. Also, there is the option of visiting 2 museums Archaeological Museum and the Maritime Museum of Crete.

Details about the accommodation: We will stay in a hostel in a 6-bed room which will be all for us and we will share the bathroom and the kitchen. the hostel is located in central Chania close to the bus station which we will use for our transfers. Also within walking distance, there is a supermarket and a laundromat if we need it. Let me know if you have any questions in the Q&A section! I am looking forward on traveling with you all!

Trip Itinerary

Chania
Day 1-6
Chania will be the meeting point and the base of our trip. We'll stay at Chania's city center in a beautiful hostel near the bus station and the old town. We will walk around the old town and eat dinners at the taverns the locals love to go to.

Elafonissi Beach
Day 6
We will take the bus to Elafonisi. It is known for its stunning natural beauty, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and pinkish-white sandy beaches. Elafonisi Beach is a stunning destination that offers a combination of natural beauty, relaxation, and recreational activities. It's a must-visit location for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts visiting Crete. After the relaxing day on the beach night, we will have dinner in a traditional tavern in Chania.

Platanias
Day 6
We'll have all the morning to sleep in or go around the city. Late in the afternoon, we'll take the bus to go to Platania and take the boat for the cruise on Thodorou island in which there will be to stops for swimming, in one of them we'll be able to dive and see a single airplane from the WW2. After the cruise, we'll stay in Platanias and go around to see the village.

Gramvousa Beach
Day 6
To reach Gramvousa Beach, we'll take a boat from the nearby town of Kissamos. Once we arrive at Gramvousa Beach, we can spend an hour time relaxing on the soft sand, swimming in the clear waters, exploring the underwater world, or hiking the cliff that offers a panoramic view from the uninhabited island of Imeri Gramvousa and visiting the Venetian forest. The last stop of our cruise will be the Balos beach or known as well as Balos lagoon. The beach features a large lagoon with shallow, crystal-clear waters in various shades of blue and turquoise. The sand on the beach is a distinctive mix of white and pink hues, which adds to the beach's allure. The lagoon is surrounded by dramatic cliffs and rocky formations, creating a sense of seclusion and tranquility.

Marathi Beach
Day 6
On our last full day, we will go to Marathi. It is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. We'll swim in the deep crystal clear waters perfect for diving and other water sports and after we'll have late lunch in a fish tavern by the bay.
